Training Update for December 2017

Although 2017 is fast disappearing we still have some fantastic training opportunities for you coming up in December.

On the 5th – 6th of December we are running the final module of our full BPS Approved Certificate in Trauma Treatments which can also be taken as a stand-alone course.
Resilience: Prevention and Recovery from Traumatic Damage

This two day BPS Approved training course provides a research based understanding of the role of resilience plus key practical skills for both prevention and recovery from traumatic damage.
It draws on early work by Werner which explored how and why around a third of children don’t develop problems despite growing up in traumatic and abusive environments right through to Frederickson’s work on the protective role of positive emotions in developing resilience.

Take a look at the full details of the training by following the link below. We’re sure it will be of interest to you.

We still have a few places left in London or to save you the hassle of travelling, you can also participate via Live Interactive Webcast. Either way this course is vital for those helping clients suffering from Trauma. Don’t miss it.

Last but definitely not least we are running the ever popular BPS Approved CBT Introductory course on the 11th-14th December. For the first and only time we are also running it via webcast so you can join us from anywhere in the world. This opportunity won’t be repeated so now is the time to attend if you haven’t already.

Our trainer, Paul Grantham, receives considerable acclaim for this course in particular and it’s always fully booked. We have delegates travel from the other side of the world to attend this training, which is why this time we are offering everyone the opportunity to attend via Live Interactive Webcast. Four days of training for the price of three and you can avoid those travel costs too. We couldn’t recommend this course enough!

The four days of training introduces you to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy within a context of other therapeutic methods using a wide range of learning techniques. You will leave this course with a solid grounding in CBT that you can put into practice straight away. The course covers, the history and meaning of CBT, conceptualising cases in CBT terms, the format of a standard CBT session, and the most important CBT techniques. At every stage of your learning theory will be constantly applied to practical examples.

The full details of the four days can be found by following this link http://www.skillsdevelopment.co.uk/cbt_seminars.php?courseid=185

Webcasts are a great way to learn and earn CPD hours without travelling. This is a one-time opportunity to attend the CBT Introductory course in this way, so book today and be part of it.

We know you will benefit from this fantastic training opportunity.

About this Blog

This is our first attempt to join the exciting world of blogging and bring to you all the fresh and hot news about the world of psychology and, of course, about your favourite training company. This is our new enterprise and we are finding our way in this mysterious world of blogging cautiously (but surely...) :-)
We are hoping to move our popular SDS Delegate Debate into this blogging format in the future and looking forward to lively discussions here with you. We are planning to start with publishing already existing SDS Delegate Debates — with comments received from you. Then we'll move to the current news as well as will run new delegate debates there.
Feel free to leave comments to any of the posts — whether they are old debates, the news or new debates. As you can guess — every blogger loves his readers and LIVES for the comments. :-) We are just the same. You don’t need to register in order to be able to comment. You can leave your feedback as “Anonymous”, however, may we ask you to sign you name (or nick) at the end of your comment (even if you are commenting without logging in) so that we know how to address you.
Another useful tool that SDS Blog provides us with is availability of Polls that enable us to find out your views about various subjects. Polls are located on the left panel of the page and updated regularly. Please feel free to vote. You can see the results of each poll by clicking the button "Results".
If you wish to register — nothing can be easier — you just open a Google account — most of you, surely, already use one.
Your comments are read by SDS Consultants regularly and — in many cases — replied to.
