Training Calendar for April-May 2018
Here at SDS we are delighted that the sun has finally appeared, albeit a little later than we would have liked!
We are very much looking forward to the BPS Approved courses we have coming up next month and here’s a brief overview for you.
The ever popular 3 day CBT Introductory course, is taking place in Glasgow on the 1st- 3rd May. If you’ve never taken this course, it’s a fantastic opportunity to do so in Scotland, but places are selling fast and it’s nearly full, so if you want to book – do it now!
Social Anxiety Disorder, also called Social Phobia, is a long-lasting and overwhelming fear of social situations. It's a common problem that usually starts during the teenage years. For some people it gets better as they get older, but for many it doesn't go away on its own.
It can be extremely distressing and have a huge negative impact on someone’s life, but there are ways that you can help your clients deal with it.
Take at the look at how you can equip yourself with the tools to help them by following the link above.
This fantastic course, with Dr Fiona Kennedy is part of the Certificate in Third Wave CBT, but is also extremely valuable as a singular module.
Mindfulness represents both a state of being as well as a technique. This two day course provides you with practice opportunities of different types of mindfulness, as well as outlines a context within which different third wave approaches incorporate and conceptualise mindfulness: from Compassionate Mindfulness, through Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy to developing mindfulness as an alternative skill to emotional avoidance.
As it’s being run via webcast, if you’re too busy on the date of the training – all webcast attendees are given 28 days to catch up via a recording. Join from the comfort of your own home, at your leisure. You can still qualify for your CPD hours and obtain your certificate!
Looking ahead to the second half of the year we have the BPS Approved Certificate in Trauma Treatments. This full certificate course was so popular last year, we are bringing it to you once again, in London and via webcast.
The BPS Approved Certificate in Trauma Treatments consists of 4 modules over 8 training days that can be booked together or separately as individual courses. The course is designed to provide both an up-to-date theoretical overview of a selection of trauma treatment approaches along with their practical application within a range of practice environments. Here are the full details of all the training modules.
We look forward to working with you.

About this Blog
This is our first attempt to join the exciting world of blogging and bring to you all the fresh and hot news about the world of psychology and, of course, about your favourite training company. This is our new enterprise and we are finding our way in this mysterious world of blogging cautiously (but surely...) :-)
We are hoping to move our popular SDS Delegate Debate into this blogging format in the future and looking forward to lively discussions here with you. We are planning to start with publishing already existing SDS Delegate Debates — with comments received from you. Then we'll move to the current news as well as will run new delegate debates there.
Feel free to leave comments to any of the posts — whether they are old debates, the news or new debates. As you can guess — every blogger loves his readers and LIVES for the comments. :-) We are just the same. You don’t need to register in order to be able to comment. You can leave your feedback as “Anonymous”, however, may we ask you to sign you name (or nick) at the end of your comment (even if you are commenting without logging in) so that we know how to address you.
Another useful tool that SDS Blog provides us with is availability of Polls that enable us to find out your views about various subjects. Polls are located on the left panel of the page and updated regularly. Please feel free to vote. You can see the results of each poll by clicking the button "Results".
If you wish to register — nothing can be easier — you just open a Google account — most of you, surely, already use one.
Your comments are read by SDS Consultants regularly and — in many cases — replied to.
The blog is moderated — mainly to protect you and other readers from spam and irrelevant comments.
All posts are tagged — hopefully it'll help you to find your way around there.
Wish us luck and please join the list of our followers.
